Sustainable development

Over the years, the Nyon Triathlon has adopted a proactive approach to sustainable development. We decided to highlight these actions by creating a dedicated “Sustainable Development” sector, highlighting our initiatives in each of its four areas of work. Here are a few examples:

  • Drafting our sustainable development concept to promote our approach.
  • Implement actions whose effects are observed and analyzed.
  • Create visual tools to raise awareness among our volunteers, athletes, partners and the general public.
  • Favoring and promoting local players to support the local economy.
  • Initiate energy-saving measures.
  • Pool our purchases to share these goods with other events.
  • Raising children’s awareness of the benefits of sport with Tri Kids.
  • Prevent the risks of doping and addiction with the Cool&Clean program.
  • Create partnerships to launch solidarity actions, such as with the Etablissement vaudois d’accueil des migrants (EVAM) and Terre des Hommes, with whom we have been working for several years.
  • Rethink our management of litter and clean-up areas to move towards zero waste.
  • Promote actions that limit our environmental impact (transport, protection, etc.).
  • Give preference to local, organic and ethical sources for food and supplies.

Our aim is to offer you an event that’s more exciting every year, but that’s also respectful of (and even useful to) our planet.

If you have any comments, suggestions or questions about our approach, please don’t hesitate to contact us at We’ll be delighted to discuss them with you.
